The location offers opportunities for cost savings in comparison to other areas in the port of Hamburg or in the centre of the city. It allows easy access to all main roads: the A1 to Bremen, A7 to Hannover and A24 to Berlin, as well as the A21 and A20 to Travemünde/Lübeck and Rostock without encountering such obstacles presented by Hamburg’s inner city as the Elbe Tunnel and the cross-harbour link road (Köhlbrand Bridge). The connection from the Altenwerder Container Terminal to VGP Park Hamburg is not slowed by traffic lights.
